I love that Blaire plays with our iPad and our phones. I embrace technology. I have worked digital/e-commerce/web for the past 6 years and I just don’t think there is any reason for me to teach Blaire not to embrace technology herself. That said, there’s a difference between watching creepy Kids YouTube videos of people playing with toys (this is seriously a thing and kids LOVE it) and playing fun, interactive games that are actually teaching her numbers, letters and problem solving.
Favorite Words/Things to Say: Oh goodness. She can say just about anything these days. She likes to give check-ups like Doc McStuffins. She will tell you to take deep breath about 7x and then will tell you good job! She likes to sing the Doc McStuffins song while she checks your ears and eyes… lol. A few phrases she says all the time: Where are you, mom?; Come here for just a second.; Mama, is the baby sleeping in there?
Mornings are always crazy around here. We always have more bags that I have hands, which means lots of trips back and forth to the car. Adding to the craziness lately — trying to leave myself enough time in the morning to pack a lunch! I am the. worst. at taking a lunch to work. I just love getting out of the office for lunch (Also I’m always running late. Also I hate cooking.) We typically have leftovers we want to take for lunch (vs. frozen meals) but storing the leftovers in lunch-box friendly containers is always a pain. IF I succeed at all of the things I mentioned above (packing a lunch, getting it into a container that fits in my lunch box, and remembering to take it to work) then going up to the lunch room and rinsing it out when I’m finished eating is just absolutely the last straw. That never happens… my poor husband. (He does all of our dishes. Thanks, Jason!)
Does anything scream fall more than pumpkin patches and apple picking? It’s funny what a difference one weekend can make! We went to our usual pumpkin patch, that we’ve gone to since Jason and I started dating, the last weekend of September. It was high-70s/low-80s, so it didn’t feel much like fall. This last weekend, the first of October, we went to a new pumpkin patch and then the apple orchard. It was mid-60s and it. was. perfect. AND we’ve found a new favorite pumpkin patch! There were lots of animals, tons of pumpkins AND it’s super close to the apple orchard. We’re lucky to live somewhere so close to so many fun things.
Knowing that we’ll have another baby joining us early next year, I decided I really, really wanted to try a backpack diaper bag! I ordered the JuJuBe B.F.F Diaper Bag because I’ve heard good things about it. The only negative feedback I read was it’s a little small — which I felt was a good challenge for me because we always end up with wayyyy too much in our diaper bag. Challenge Accepted.
