We woke up this morning to our first snow! While the weatherman originally predicted 1-3″ (which I was expecting later in the day) we are going to end up with 6-8″ when it’s all said and done… AND we and woke up to a good 3″ on the ground already. Blaire was SO excited when she saw it out the back door. She could barely sit still to eat her breakfast before layering up in all of her snow gear.
The funny thing about toddlers is they don’t necessarily remember things from months and months ago. Well, at least Blaire says she doesn’t remember seeing the snow before. Blaire will be three in February, so she saw snow earlier this year as 2-year-old and the year before as a one-year-old. Each year she has LOVED watching it fall out the back door. Last year she even enjoyed putting on her snow pants and playing in it for a grand total of 10 minutes.
And as much as she loved it last winter, she did not discover the movie Frozen until our snowy season was over earlier this spring. So she’s never seen snow with the hopes of building a snowman. ;) She could’ve stayed out there for hours if we let her! She even immediately laid down in the snow and yelled Me Make a Snow Angel!
She finally realized she loved eating the snow, which was fine today with a fresh snow fall… not so sure how happy she will be when we explain to her she can’t eat it on a regular basis because it’s gross and dirty. Such is the unfair life of a toddler, I guess.
Happy Sunday! xo
