We had such a fun-filled, crazy Easter weekend. Friday night we took a trip to the mall to see Mr. E. Bunny. We actually have never taken Blaire to get her picture with the Easter Bunny before this year. Mainly because he’s just so creepy. But, this year she saw him when we were shopping at the mall and she has been begging to go back and visit him. As you can see, she was super excited to finally see him.
I am so, so happy to announce the arrival of our sweet baby boy, Benjamin Robert. He was born March 21, at 3:50 a.m. weighing 7lbs 4oz and 20″ long. I actually couldn’t believe I was in labor with him because he was a week and a half early, but we are so happy he decided not to make us wait any longer! He looks just like his big sis, except for that dark hair.

You guys. It’s March! … and that means it’s baby month. I am SO in love with our maternity pictures. We got so, so, so lucky with the weather that day. Who knew we would be blessed with a 70° day, in February, here in the midwest?! We had originally picked a different day, but when we saw the weather forecast, our amazing photographer squeezed us in.
My baby is three! This is the first year Blaire could pick her “theme” and she choose Peppa Pig. We have done Blaire’s past birthday parties at home and they always end up stressing me out. I usually spent the weeks leading up to her party crafting Pinterest decorations. But not this year. This year, we decided all we really needed was a fun cake! We have done a big family party at lunch and then a big friend party at dinner. To try to make this year a little smaller, we opted for a bowling party combining Blaire’s closest friends and our immediate family.
While it was somewhat hectic with three-year-olds bowling, it got me out of cleaning my house from top to bottom, so it was worth it. ;) The whole thing went by quickly, so I mostly just ended up with some fuzzy iPhone pictures… but that’s okay. Blaire definitely had the time of her life. Between running around with her friends, opening gifts, and blowing out her candle (her favorite part!), she didn’t stop smiling all day.
Can we just talk about the difference between these photos?! How I wish we were home more during daylight hours because it is WAY more flattering. But since it’s winter and all… the sun is down by 6PM every night. Boo!
I never posted my 32 week update and I’ll be 35 weeks tomorrow, so I figured I may as well combine them! Overall I feel fine. I have rough days and am in seriously need of a nap every afternoon — but I somehow survive without one. I have started having some spells of dizziness/light-headedness so that’s not super fun. I went and bought some flats in a half size up because my poor feet are swollen by 10AM every day… which I don’t remember happening with Blaire. But, overall, I could definitely be feeling worse! I’m just getting anxious to meet this little guy. We’re still finishing up the nursery, but I’ve FINALLY chosen a double stroller, so our “to do” list is getting smaller. ;)
Over this past year, working full-time, blogging, mom-ing, and now prepping for baby number two have had me feeling more stressed than ever before. I finally decided to do something about it, because life doesn’t just destress itself. So, over the course of the past few months, I implemented a few simple changes and I’m happy to say they’ve paid off. While I can’t say I’m stress-free, I can say I’m a less stressed, a little less anxious and a whole lot happier.
My baby is going to be three next month! I can’t believe it. Last year she was obsessed with Minnie Mouse, so we did a Minnie “Oh Twodles” theme. And the year before we did a “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” theme. This year, she’s old enough to tell us what theme she wants and she has decided on… Peppa Pig!
She is so into birthdays right now. My birthday was in December, Jason’s is in January, hers in February and then her little brother is due in March. So she was super excited for my birthday, then she was counting down the days until she got to help Jason blow out the candles on his cake (that she also thought should have Peppa Pig on it) and now she knows her’s is up next.
