I had sooo many pinterest ideas for what I wanted to do to capture Blaire each month throughout her first year. Seeing her grow up next to her favorite little bear and this throw pillow is just perfect. The past few months it was impossible to get a photo of her bear sitting next to her, because she’s so obsessed with her that she has to be holding her. Well… now that Blaire’s a year, I just had to put all of these pictures together. It’s amazing to watch her grow. :) Is it weird if I want to make her do this every month for the rest of her life? xo
This little girl is finally one year old! She is just as funny and charming as ever. She is one of the fastest walkers around and lights up every room. She has six teeth (three on top and three on bottom) and is still sleeping through the night (most nights!). She has said quite a few words, but the only words she really says on a daily basis are da da and mom. Her most recent is “yeah” and she loves repeating it after mom and dad. It’s so funny! She just loves our animals and has a lot of fun chasing them around and trying to play with them/give them hugs. I hear she does the same to her friends at daycare.
One of her favorite toys for the past month has been a baby doll that she plays with at daycare. She carries it around all day and calls it da da da da da. She got her own similar doll for her birthday and this little doll goes everywhere with her. She even tried to feed it with her little lipstick tube. It is SO adorable. I can’t handle it. She is still very in to carrying around her purse (and anything that had handles like a purse.)
She understands all kinds of phrases, like “Come here.” and “Go show daddy!” It seems like she learns something new every day. Watching her learn and grow is truly more rewarding than I ever thought possible. She is the love of our lives and I’m just not sure what we ever did without her! We love you so much Blaire and we hope this year was an amazing start to a lifetime of love and happiness for you.
It’s here! This is Blaire’s last monthly update before she’s a YEAR OLD! I can’t believe she is now 11 months old. This update is the most emotional for me, and I think it must just be because she is becoming so independent. She sleeps in her own room, can feed herself, walk and she hasn’t used a bottle in a week! (We found the perfect sippy cup for her and she hasn’t seemed to mind drinking her formula out of those at bedtime… it can be found here.) It doesn’t seem like she should be this big yet! And I’m just not ready to let her be a toddler.
This month has been so exciting. Blaire got her third bottom tooth and second top tooth, within only five days of each other. Getting those two top teeth in has been rough. Poor kid! HUGE NEWS: She is also walking! If you follow me on Instagram, then you got to see those cute, tiny steps last week. She dances and has started saying lots of new words. My favorite has to be “uh oh!” It is just so freaking CUTE! She is also a stair-climbing pro! She’s our little mountain climber. ;)
One of the most exciting part about Blaire’s turning 11 months old today? It’s Jason’s birthday! I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in life. He’s the most wonderful and caring husband and father. I’m so lucky to have him here by my side, every, single day. Happiest of birthdays, JP, from both your girls. ;)
Taking this picture of Blaire for Jason’s birthday reminded me of one of my favorite pregnancy chalkboards. (These pictures always make me miss my baby bump!)
I hope you had a great weekend! Ours flew by, as always. xo
Our little girl turned 10 Months Old on Christmas! Only two more months and this little girl will be ONE YEAR OLD?! AHH! Blaire now has three teeth and is just a babbling machine. Her two favorite words are still dada and mama. We also swear she said Elmo when she opened up her Elmo on Christmas Eve. She is the sweetest little girl and smiling is her favorite! She loves to wrinkle up her nose all the time, and it might just be the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!
She loves to do “sooo big” and “patty cake” and she has finally started waving with just one hand (it was two-handed for awhile!) She also has started doing the cutest thing with her fingers. She likes to wiggle them all around at the same time and it looks like she’s trying to tickle you. Blaire slept through the night for the first time just a few weeks ago and is really only waking up once per night. It’s usually between 5AM-6AM and we just bring her into our bed and she falls right back asleep until about 8:30AM. She has been using those three teeth to try out lots of new foods! Cheesy hashbrowns were a huge hit at breakfast with Santa.
It’s so hard to get this girl to sit still these days. She’s always trying to crawl away! Not a day goes by that Jason and I don’t wonder how we got so lucky, or what we’d be doing without this amazing little girl. We love you SO much Blaire Elizabeth.
Well, I’m posting this a few weeks late… but our girl is 9 months old! I can’t believe it. 9 months feels like such a milestone. I spent 9 months growing this kid and now she’s spent 9 months on this Earth. Weird? Maybe. Crazy? Definitely!
Blaire is still babbling all the time. She said “mom” for the first time a few weeks ago. Every time she says it, it melts my heart. She also says “mama” and I SWEAR she has said “dog” and “kitty”. Lol. She still says “dad” “dada” “daddy” “hi” “hey” and “yeah”. She still just has her bottom two teeth, but is working on some more. She has been teething like crazy this past week. She LOVES to eat. She’s started getting really angry when someone else is eating and she’s not. Especially if you’re eating something with a spoon. She just assumes food on a spoon is meant for her, I guess. So far, her favorites include pizza, mashed potatoes, cucumbers, egg (yolks), cottage cheese and most fruit. (Still not a banana lover, unless it’s mixed with something else.)
She’s always on the go… Crawling and pulling herself up on to anything and everything. The poor animals are always having to watch their backs because she loves to pull their hair and try to cuddle with them. I will also note that it’s now terribly hard to get a non-blurry photo of her. I wish I could say she was sleeping through the night. Between her cold, her teething and her growth spurt she’s still up at least twice per night. On nights when her congestion or teething are really bothering her she’ll be up for hours at a time. (Insert zombie emoji here.) It’s rough! But it really makes you wonder how you did it during those newborn months. In the past few weeks she’s been sleeping on her side and stomach a lot, which I know I’ve mentioned before. But it’s just so cute! It makes her seem so grown up.
Blaire’s personality is even sweeter than I ever could have imagined. She lights up anytime she sees Jason or I and it just melts my heart every, single time. She has started giving slobbery kisses when you ask her for a kiss and it is obviously one of my favorite things. She brings me more joy than I ever thought possible. Every time I look at her little face and she smiles back at me I know that I was meant to be her mom.
Do you remember your little one at this age? Which age has been your favorite? I’d love to know! Have a great week! xo
Okay, I feel like I’m going to say this every, single month… but WHAT? How is Blaire 8-months-old already? That means there’s only 4 more months until we’re celebrating her 1st Birthday. I can’t take it.
She just wants to stand allllll the time. Whether it’s in her bouncer or jumper, or walking with our help, or holding onto the side of the couch and using it to taking steps on her own… she just loves it! The smiles and giggles when she’s standing and taking steps are my favorite! She is so mobile now. She crawled (forward, with her belly off the ground) for the first time this weekend! She mostly just pulls herself forward when there’s something she wants to get. She can crawl backwards and sideways and roll all over the place. She can even go from crawling back to sitting on her own. She was so proud of herself the first few times she did it. Getting Blaire to sit still is easier said, than done. She’s just so curious about everything! Everything she hears. Everything she sees. Everything.
Blaire has started babbling more and more and it still sounds like she says “da da”, “dad” and “hey”. We love it! It’s so funny when she makes noises that sound like words. It just cracks us up! She still loves being outside and loves animals. The park we go to for walks has a large pond with lots of ducks, and their quacks always make her laugh. Watching her grow and develop her little personality is a greater joy than I ever could have imagined. I have always tried to spend a lot of time with my goddaughter (who is now 5!) as she has grown up. Through this, I’ve known first-hand that every new stage becomes your favorite. You may miss your tiny baby, but watching them learn is so exciting and rewarding… even more so when it’s your own baby!
I’ll be posting our 8 Month Must-Haves soon! I’d love to know what age has been your favorite with your little one. xo
It’s so hard to believe that our baby girl is now 7 months old! It’s so amazing to see the new things she learns each day. Blaire now prefers to be up and moving around, no more just sitting around on the couch. She can sit on the floor playing with her toys for hours! She can scoot backwards, roll and spin herself all around on the floor. She takes steps when we hold onto her hands… it’s so crazy to think that she could be walking here in just a few more months! She loves eating and now she opens her mouth up for each bite. She can even feed herself the little Gerber Graduate Puffs! She’s just started drinking water, and we’re working on getting her more familiar with a sippy cup. She loves cartoons, especially Sesame Street characters, which we realized when they made a guest appearance on the Tonight Show!
Blaire’s first tooth broke through on Friday, 9/26, just one day after her 7 Month birthday. It’s still barely there. We’re hoping it comes all the way through soon, so that our girl can get back to her happy self! These teething tablets have really been a lifesaver the past week. We only use them when she seems really fussy. She loves letting them dissolve on her tongue and opens her mouth after each ones dissolves, ready to take the next one. Sooo cute! She just realized how to splash around during her bath time a few weeks ago, so that makes bath time much more interesting! She is babbling more and more each day. She really enjoys blowing raspberries, sticking out her tongue and blowing air at us.
Will be posting our 7 Month favorites soon! I’d love to hear what exciting things your little one did at 7 Months! xo
