My baby is three! HOW?! Time has flown by. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing home our little blue-eyed, red-haired, three-day-old baby from the hospital. And now… here she is. Three years old, singing and dancing in the living room in her Princess Sofia dress-up shoes and her Doc McStuffins stethoscope.
Let me just start off by saying, transitioning to a new daycare was really hard. Although, I’m not sure which was harder. The actual process of transitioning Blaire to her new school or having to tell her current daycare that we were moving her.
Blaire attended the same in-home daycare from the time she was 12 weeks old, up until three months before her third birthday. She LOVED her. We loved her! We never had any problems and really our only push for moving Blaire was that we wanted her to be in a more structured, preschool-like setting and we wanted her to be transitioned into it before bringing home a baby.

Our baby turns 3 next month! It’s. Insane. She’s so independent. She’s potty trained. She still really loves playing with babies and stuffed animals. They all have conversations and she even recently started telling them to “go stuffed” when one of us enters the room (it’s from Doc McStuffins for those of you who aren’t familiar!)

This weekend we had some amazing weather! It was in the 50s, which almost feels like Summer when you’re in Iowa in February and it was just snowing three days ago. Blaire got a tricycle from her great grandparents for Christmas and this weekend was the first time she was able to ride it outside. And she was SO excited! Not only was she excited to ride her bike, she was happy she could wear sandals. She’s been asking to wear her new sandals for the past week and it’s just been absolutely freezing, so she’s had to settle for wearing them around the house. Also on our spring weather agenda? Bubble blowing.

I’ll be honest, doing Blaire’s hair is not always my favorite part of our morning routine. I typically save it for last since it’s always a struggle. If it was up to her, she’d never brush her hair and would just sport her bed head all day. She’d also never wash her hair, as she’s always worried the water is going to get in her eyes. Our morning usually goes something like this…
Me: “Blaire, come here. Let me do your hair quick.”
Blaire: “No. Me just want crazy hair today.”
Me: “PLEASE! You cannot have crazy hair today. We have to hurry. We are late.”
Blaire: “No thanks, mom.”
